About

Jeff completed over 30 years of police service at the beginning of 2025.

He led the Operations and Contingency Planning department, overseeing event and operations planning, emergency planning, and tactical training, including Public Order, CBRN, and Search portfolios.

As an experienced Counter Terrorism Security Coordinator (CT SecCo), Jeff has managed numerous high-profile deployments, including protected Royal and Ministerial visits, military events, major sporting events, music festivals, the Commonwealth Games Baton Relay, and his force’s response to the death of HM The Queen. He has extensive expertise in planning and delivering security operations for world-class cycling events, including the 2014 Tour de France Grand Départ, the 2019 UCI World Cycle Championships, and all five editions of the Tour de Yorkshire.

Additionally, Jeff has significant experience as a Public Order/Public Safety Commander and Police Search Advisor (PolSA). He has a strong background in multi-agency coordination across various events and incidents, including civil contingencies such as the coronavirus response. He served as his force’s lead CT SecCo and was Deputy Chair of the regional group.

Jeff holds a Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Counter Terrorism Risk Management and is a Member of the Security Institute.
